Sunday Morning Delight with Gluten-free French Toast

Gluten-free French Toast Starting your morning off right with a good gluten-free breakfast is a great way to greet the day. Gluten-free french toast is delicious and a fun way to change up your morning routine. This gluten-free french toast recipe is so easy, I can make it before I catch the train to work.

Personally, I like gluten-free french toast with Rudi’s gluten-free bread. Their gluten-free bread is thick so it absorbs the bread without falling apart. Also, their bread is moist with a slight nutty flavor and the crust isn’t too think so it handles the egg perfectly. Instead of maple syrup, I pair the gluten-free french toast with apple sauce and walnuts. It is a great way to add a serving of fruit and protein to the gluten-free breakfast and then I don’t have a sugar crash an hour later.

Gluten-free French Toast Recipe

  • 2 slices of Rudi’s Gluten-free Bread
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup of milk
  • apple sauce
  • handful of walnuts
  • cinnamon
  • Salt
  • OJ (optional)
  • Coffee or Tea (optional)

To begin the gluten-free french toast, heat a skillet or non-stick pan with butter over low heat. In a bowl, beat the egg and milk. Pour the egg mixture into a shallow dish. Dredge the first slice of gluten-free bread in the egg mixture. Turn the slice of bread and dredge the second side. Place in the hot skillet. Repeat with the second slice of gluten-free bread. Cook the gluten-free french toast until it is golden brown. Flip and cook the second side until golden brown. Remove the gluten-free french toast from the pan, sprinkle with cinnamon and serve with applesauce and walnuts.
